Important information for seniors

New scholarships are arriving all the time. Check out the scholarship binder in the College & Career Center and the Career Center website. The deadline for the Rossmoor scholarship is Mon., Feb. 9. Remember--you have to have your federal EFC included in your application, so file your FAFSA now!

All families of seniors who will be attending any form of higher education (2yr/4yr; public/private; for profit/not-for-profit) should plan to complete the FAFSA by the end of February at the very latest. Earlier is better. Get a PIN from pin.ed.gov to use as your electronic signature and fill out the FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov. If you don't have 2014's tax information organized yet, you should estimate based on 2013's taxes and then update your FAFSA after you have filed your taxes for 2014. DON"T WAIT!

Get your Talent Show act together now!

Talent Show auditions will be held on Tues., Jan. 27 and Wed., Jan. 28 in M-2 from 3:00-5:00pm. Sign up in SSN.

PTSA Reflections program update

The PTSA's annual Reflections art program received some fantastic entries by our talented College Park students! The Reflections program is an arts recognition and achievement program for students sponsored by the National PTA and offers students the opportunity to create works of art outside of school projects for fun and recognition. It's also a great thing to have for a college resume. The 2014-2015 theme is "The world would be a better place if..."

Three students have advanced from the Council level to the District level. At the District Showcase Award Ceremony the artwork advancing to the state level of competition will be announced. The District Showcase will be held on Sat., Jan. 31 at Alhambra High School in Martinez from 1:00-3:00pm, with the awards presentation at 2:00pm.

Please congratulate these College Park artists for their success at the Council and District levels:
Jessica Neuman (12th) Visual Arts
Lucy Murov (10th) Literature
Amelia Carlson (11th) Photography

Hello amazing bakers!

I'm sending you this message on behalf of College Park High School Boosters Crab Feed Committee.

The annual Crab Feed/Auction will take place on Sat., Jan. 31 at the newly-remodeled Pleasant Hill Community Center. I am in charge of the dessert auction for the event. I'm reaching out to all the school's bakers and asking for dessert donations to auction.

We aren't greedy and will take anything you are willing to donate. I prefer the desserts be delivered to the Pleasant Hill Community Center on the day of the event between 11:00am-2:00pm, but if that's not possible, we can make a plan for you to drop off the item at my house.

If you can help with a donation, please email me at queen_be1@comcast.net and let me know what item you will be donating.

This is our 25th anniversary so we would like to emphasis that we want all dessert presentations to look elegant and classy. Many thanks, Brenda Teixeira (925 787 0531)
