Prohibition Against the Imposition of Student Fees Improving Upon the District's Implementation of AB 1575

1. School Supply List:

Please note that you or your student is not required to purchase, donate, or contribute any of the requested items on the school supply list.  Additionally, no student will be denied from participating in any classroom activity if he or she chooses not to purchase, donate, or contribute any requested item(s).  However, if you voluntarily decide to purchase, donate or contribute any item in any quantity of the requested supplies and provide them to your student's teacher(s), the supplies will be shared equally among all the students in the class in order for each student to participate in the planned, fun, academic activities.

2. Athletics:
Please  note that your student  is not required to purchase, donate, or contribute any portion of the team's costs as a condition of participation on an athletic team.   Additionally, no student will be denied the opportunity to participate on an athletic team if he or she chooses not to purchase, donate, or contribute any portion of the team's expenses or if he or she chooses not to participate in any fundraising event(s).

3. Field Trips:
Please  note that you or your student is not required to purchase, donate, or contribute any  portion of the costs for the field trip. Additionally, no student will be denied from participating in the field trip if he or she chooses not to purchase, donate, or contribute any portion of the costs for the field trip.  However, if you voluntarily decide to purchase, donate, or contribute any portion of the costs for the field trip, your purchase, donation, or contribution will be applied to the overall budget for all students to participate in this year's [insert tvpe of trip].

Additionally,  the staff is scheduling fund raising events in which you and/or your student will have the option to participate  to help facilitate each student's attendance.   No student will be denied attendance to the field trip if he or she chooses not to purchase, donate, or contribute in any of the fundraising  event(s).

Booster Webstore

The Athletic Booster Club kindly provides a webstore so that parents can purchase items that the school is no longer permitted to offer due to state/district regulations.

                As we all know life brings change.  This holds true with our coaching staff.  Long time basketball coach Troy Faulk announced today that he will be stepping down effective immediately.  Coach Faulk shared with the team today at lunch his difficult decision, saying goodbye to a program he has been dedicated to for nine years.  He has always expected his student-athletes to be all in, and has the same expectation for himself.  His new job and family commitments have led him to take some time away from the team and the sport he loves.

                Coach Faulk has coached at College Park since2008, serving as a varsity assistant.  He was on staff for three DVAL championships, and the Nor Cal /State Finals run in 2013.  In 2015 Coach Faulk took over the head job, leading to team to a DVAL championship season, NCS birth and posting a 22-7 record.  During Coach Faulk’s three years as the head coach, they posted a 49-33 overall record, won two DVAL championships, and advanced to NCS each season.

                One of Coach Faulk’s key contributions during his tenure has been the College Park team room in the small gym.  The space has lockers, record boards, team benches, and a flat screen tv for the team to take advantage of.  This room is not only used by the basketball programs but our volleyball teams as well.  Troy made it a priority to push this project to completion with paperwork and fundraising.

                Coach Faulk’s lasting contribution will always be the young men he has mentored during his time here at CP.  He as always asked his players for their best and they have responded in kind.  His professionalism, attention to detail, and passion for the game will be missed.  There were handshakes and a more than a few teary eyes today when Troy spoke to the team. 

Thank you Coach Faulk for your dedication and service here at College Park.  You will be missed.

                We would at the same time like to welcome our new girls’ volleyball coach, Melissa Ralls.  Coach Ralls played for two years at Merced College as a Libero.  She brings seven years of coaching experience to College Park, having coached at the Middle School, High School and club levels.  Coach Ralls currently coaches at Pacific Rim Volleyball Academy in the offseason.  She has met with the team and will be announcing her staff and plans for team workouts shortly.  Coach Ralls fills the position previously held by Kent Perkins who stepped down for family and health reasons.




Save the date for the College Fair at Saint Mary's College on Sat., May 6 from 1:00-4:00pm (informational sessions start at 12:15pm).

More than 170 colleges and universities will be be represented and there will be workshops on a variety of topics. Juniors, come along after you have taken the SAT--reward yourselves for all that hard work!

Traffic and parking is always an issue so take BART to Orinda and pick up a free shuttle bus to and from campus. 
This is the largest and most informative college fair in the area: don't miss out!

200 Volunteers needed for Grad Nite 2017

Did you know it takes more than 200 volunteers to make Grad Nite a success? Whether  you have a senior, junior, sophomore or freshman, helping at Grad Nite is a great way to support our school community and create a safe event for our Seniors on graduation night.

Help is needed all day Fri., June 2, Sat., June 3 and Sun., Jun 4 to decorate the Centre Concord from floor to ceiling. In addition, about 100 people are needed on the day of the event itself, Tues., June 6.  Sign up today by clicking here. For questions, contact Kalene Gomez or Kim Ban

Food Co-chair needed for Grad Nite!

The Grad Nite committee is looking for a volunteer who is able to help the Food Chair for this year's Grad Nite. An underclass parent (or two!)  is needed to help make this event successful.  This individual will need to be present while the Food Chair is at the graduation ceremony, so it should not be a senior parent. 

Ideally, this individual would take over the Food Chair position for next year's Grad Nite. If you are interested in helping out, would like to learn more about the position or know of someone who would be interested, please contact Jennifer Tipton. Thank you for your help--Grad Nite can't succeed without it!

Permission slips required for attendance at Grad Nite

All seniors attending Grad Nite need to turn in permission slips before the event! Please complete them and turn them in to Student Services North in the basket on the counter marked "Grad Nite Permission Slips." You can also turn them in to Ms. Keating's office. 

There are two sides to complete--one side for College Park and the other is for City of Concord. Both MUST be filled out completely. Click here to download the permission slip in English. Click here to download the permission slip in Spanish. 

There is also a permission slip to leave early. If you fill this out, you are letting the committee know that your student has your permission to leave Grad Nite earlier than 4:30am.
