RTI

What is RTI?

RTI (Response to Intervention) provides dedicated time during the school day for academic intervention, enrichment, additional support, relationship-building, and preparation for graduation and postsecondary success.

RTI can be used for things like:

  • Making up tests or quizzes when students have been absent or need additional time to complete an assessment
  • Meeting with teachers to ask questions, clarify assignments, or receive additional support
  • Getting extra help in specific subjects where students may need additional instruction or practice
  • Completing assignments or strengthening academic skills with support from teachers and staff
  • Building positive relationships with teachers and staff who can help students reach their academic goals
  • Getting support with graduation and postsecondary planning to help students stay on track for their future goals

Students can request to work with another teacher during RTI by making a selection through Minga.  If students want to attend RTI with a different teacher, selections must be entered into Minga by 4:00pm the day before RTI.  Sign up by Tuesday at 4:00pm for the Wednesday RTI or sign up by Wednesday at 4:00pm for the Thursday RTI.

RTI Attendance Is Required

As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, we want to provide an important clarification regarding RTI expectations for seniors, particularly those who have an open 5th and/or 6th period.

Having an open 5th or 6th period does not excuse a senior from attending RTI.  RTI remains part of our instructional program and school-day expectations.

Senior RTI Expectations:

  • Seniors with an open 5th and/or 6th period are still required to attend RTI.
  • Seniors must report to their assigned RTI classroom on time.
  • Seniors are expected to remain in their assigned RTI for the entire period.
  • After completing their RTI responsibilities, seniors with an approved open period may follow their regular schedule.
