This coming Friday, December 6, the College Park Music Department will be performing our 13th Annual Candlelight Concerts. For over a decade now, this concert event has become a staple of the holiday season in the CP performing arts community. This is a collaborative event between our choral & instrumental music programs and features Bella Voce, Chamber Singers, String Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra & the Symphony Orchestra.

Please join us Friday December, 13th from 4:00 - 7:00pm in the Multi Use room at CPHS for our annual Winter Showcase of student artwork as well as a fundraiser for the Visual Arts programs.
The Visual Arts Boosters raises funds for consumable materials used in the Visual Arts classrooms as well as creates a community of committed parents who value art in the education of their children.

Growing Healthy Kids is a non-profit that runs outdoor education programs with MDUSD students and this year they're expanding opportunities for high school students to get service hours volunteering with our organization.
Here are some upcoming opportunities:

Fri. 10/25, Trunk or Treat (4PM to 7PM) : We’re looking for volunteers to help staff a booth at Walnut Creek Trunk or Treat! Volunteers at this event need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Sign up and details here.

Sun. 10/27, Garden Farm Tree Planting (9AM to 12PM): Growing Healthy Kids is building an outdoor Garden Farm at Rio Vista Elementary! Last year, over 70 HS volunteers came to our tree planting event, and this year, we’re hoping for even more! A flyer for this event is attached.

Bi-weekly Small Work Crews at Rio Vista Garden Farm: We’re going to be running smaller work days every other week all school year at the Rio Vista Garden Farm. A full list is on our volunteer portal.

Event: Youth Mental Health Symposium: Your Child's Technology Use and Digital Safety
Date: Thursday, October 24 from 6:00 - 7:30pm. Free, virtual via Zoom webinar.

A panel of experts will discuss the benefits and risks of social media use, how to identify problematic technology use, what an effective family social media plan looks like, and how to support your child relative to online spaces.

MDUSD will hold a Fentanyl Awareness and Saving a Life Event on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Foothill Middle School.
This is a family event and we will share the latest information and data about the dangers of fentanyl and train families and students how to recognize an opioid overdose and administer Naloxone to save a life. Each adult who registers will receive a free Naloxone Kit.

Help Make A Difference at CPHS! P. Hill Community Service Day Sept 21
Join PTSA and the Pleasant Hill community on campus at CPHS to help with a variety of projects that will improve and beautify our campus. Projects include (not limited to), weeding, picking up garbage, Bike Rack Area project, front of school Garden Box beautification and more. Come ready with gloves, shovels, gardening tools, buckets (if you can) and bring family, friends!
